When you use invoice discounts, the size of the invoice amount determines the size of the discount that is granted.

After you have decided which customers are eligible for invoice discounts, enter the invoice discount codes on the customer cards and set up the terms for each code.

To set up and assign a sales invoice discount code

  1. In the Search box, enter Customers, and then choose the related link.

  2. Open the customer card for a customer that will be eligible for invoice discounts.

  3. On the Invoicing FastTab, in the Invoice Disc. Code field, enter a code for the relevant invoice discount window to use to calculate invoice discounts for the customer.

After you have entered the code, you must set up sales invoice discount terms.

  4. On the Navigate tab, in the Sales group, choose Invoice Discounts. The Cust. Invoice Discounts window opens.

  5. On the first line, in the Currency Code field, enter the code for a currency for which you want to set up invoice discount terms. Leave the field blank if you want to set up invoice discount terms in LCY.

  6. In the Minimum Amount field, enter the minimum amount that an invoice must have, to be eligible for a discount. The minimum amount is in the currency represented by the code in the Currency Code field on the same line.

  7. In the Discount % field, enter the percentage rate to be used.

  8. Fill in a line for each currency for which the customer will receive an invoice discount.

For each unique set of invoice discount terms that you want to set up, repeat these steps.

After you have set up one instance of each set of invoice discount terms, you can assign the corresponding codes to other customers.
